As far as it being gold-nope. I might have a colouring that resembles gold but it's not. Gold even buried for thousands of years looks like gold, it doesn't corrode as other metals do. For cleaning up try soap and water with a brush. Then a possible soaking in Hydrogen Peroxide would take off the organic material.
